Look at my yummy Ford F150. Its a proper American pick up truck with mucky bits and everything. You'll love grumbling about with me in this, you get that authentic gasoline smell as well and a bumpy ride because the shocks have gone. I paid $1250 for this and have fitted a new exhaust $160. I needs tuning and in hotter weather it really stallls all the time I have to drive with two feet, one on the fuel and the other on the brake. Also the fuel gauge doesn't work. Its great for moving stuff like sofas and gravestones and big long things like drain pipes. A real American dream. I think I could fit at least 20 cute girls in the back so we could have a party.

It actually looks pretty good, and it is really. The tyres are a bit bold, or one of them is at least. Other than the shocks, tuning and tyres its in great shape, and it works just fine as it is right now really. Also I replaced a bulb in the tail light. Its just a regular pick up and certainly no giant but it feels like your driving a truck, you can see down onto the roofs of smaller cars and it feels rally wide like the driving lanes aren't big enough.
Also, the windows are tinted, which if you ask me is really dangerous, you can see other cars if the have lights on, but you cant see much else in the dark, especially kids playing on the side of the street. It has one red alloy wheel, not shown. It has a stupid handbrake right next to the hood release. That means that I often pop the hood just as im about to drive off. However, due to forgetting to release the hand brake on at least 2 occassions, maybe more, I have stopped using it all together as Park is good enough. You really can drive around with the hand brake on and not notice, at least until you get out and smell the burning small.
I ran out of fuel once and had to push it off of a busy intersection, that was fun. And no one helped. But I did it.
They dont have any vehicle testing here which is crazy. The exhaust had more than holes, the end tail had about 10% of its diameter still attached, the rest was rust and had corroded through. And it was really noisey. A total MOT failure alone. In the UK this would be a right off, but here in the US its ok to drive about. You can drive anything, its crazy. Because the shocks are knackered it rocks from side to side occasionally, and that can actually be quite scary. It starts to feel like its about to flip and you have to slow down, but it doesn't happen much.
All in all this is a great truck, and i feel good driving it. It was cheap and its really functional. When I brought it the guy wanted cash so I had to go to the bank and on the way I looked at another truck which was newer and a bit smaller. It was an Isuzu I think. Anyway, the thing was that it was only 4 cylinders, so it was cheaper to run, but in my eyes it wasn't the arcytipal American Truck. this truck felt right. It has a V8 configuration and I think its 5L. I was speaking to a guy who knew about these trucks and he said after looking at the engine that it was a 302 which was a pretty decent engine and not that costly on fuel.
Personally as long as it gets me through a year or more then i'll be happy.
Had to buy number plates as well which cost $200 in total. In America number plates go with the person so if I sell this I keep my plates and put them on the new car. It also means that if I buy a small salon for general driving I have to pay $200 for a new plate. However, after that road tax is only $45/year. However, the stickers you get expire on your birthday, so everyone knows what month you were born, crazy..
